International Mother Language Day 2024 -Multilingual Education: A Pillar of Learning and Intergenerational Learning

 Students' Activity Club of the Department of Library and Information Science, Central University of Tamil Nadu has celebrated the International Mother Language Day on 21-02-2024. Dr. K.G. Sudhier highlighted the importance of preserving mother languages in his welcome address. Dr. Taddi Murali, Head of the Department, emphasized the crucial role of multilingual education in fostering inclusivity and cultural heritage. Professor T. Sengadir, the guest of honour  underlined the significance of multilingualism in academic pursuits. Dr. Shamla R, Assistant Professor, DMC shared views on the role of libraries in archiving the language diversity. Prizes were distributed to the Haiku contest winners recognizing their creative expressions in various languages.

Participation in the National Conference on Digital Transformations on Sustainable Libraries

Mr. Ramu Naik, Research Scholar, DLIS CUTN has presented the paper "Health Information Seeking Behavior of Tribal People in Ananthapuramu District, Andhra Pradesh: A study" in the National Conference on  Digital Transformations on Sustainable Libraries  organised by the Chozha Central Library, CUTN on 29 - 30 January 2024.


Ms. Sushree Namita Nag, JRF, DLIS CUTN has presented the paper "Research trends in Information Need and Seeking Behaviour during Natural disaster: A bibliometric analysis 2014-2023." in the National Conference on  Digital Transformations on Sustainable Libraries  organised by the Chozha Central Library, CUTN on 29 - 30 January 2024.

Participation in G20 Library Summit

Ms. Hasbi Alikunju, SRF, DLIS CUTN has presented the paper "Need for Inclusive Library Policy to Address Information Poverty among the Transgender Community" in the G20 Library Summit: Connecting the Nations for Knowledge and Cultural Heritage held at Pondicherry University on 7 -9  February 2024.

Ms. Hasbi Alikunju has received the best paper award in G20 Library Summit


Ms. Bhavya K P,  JRF, DLIS CUTN has presented the paper "Library Digital Disaster Management: Awareness and Preparedness among Library Professionals of Chozha Central Library, Central University of Tamil Nadu " 



Dr.. K G Sudhier,  Assistant Professor, DLIS CUTN has presented the paper "Digital preservation of Traditional Handloom Designs of Odisha: A study on the Sambalpuri Handloom".

Dr. Sudhier has received best paper award under the category of working professionals.
